10:34 pm - VISITATION
|
|
so....visitation started round here yesterday. and i'm already tired of it. as i'm typing, our suitemates "boyfriend" feels like it would be a good time to play little drummer boy on our kitchen table in the oh-so-soundproof common area. i love how it echos throughout our entire room. i can feel it underneath my chair. goodness, i can hear the condoms breaking and the STDs getting passed already.

12:26 pm - finally
|
i am so relieved that it's the weekend. i've been studying my butt off for all of my tests, and i'm glad to be done [for now]. this past week i had:
- food science pop quiz - trig test - chem test - world history test - food science test - trig quiz
maybe you all could handle that, but that was alot of work for me people. study groups were poppin this week. i was at the library almost alot this week. for 6 hours on one day. not to mention all the people that i promised i'd help in trig/chem. maybe i'm too nice. all this is papers, projects, and general homework aside. i'm feeling pretty relieved right now. yay for joella being spent!

So I finally got my schedule straightened out and I love it. They had me declared as a Food Science and Technology major [which is correct] but I was taking classes arranged for Fashion majors. Plus, I had this REALLY boring biology teacher. "Umm" and "Uhh" were his choice phrases/words. He gestured alot with his hands and would always look at the floor. Not good qualities in a lecture teacher.
Now, I'm Intro to Food Science, Foods for Life, World History, Trigonometry, Chemistry, and Survival Skills [for freshman; not to improve the outdoorswoman in me]. There's quite a bit of reading, but I find the classes far more interesting. Especially Intro to Food Science.
On another note, Kelly and I went to go see The Descent last night. First of all, it took us like an hour and a half to find this place thanks to faulty directions. Then, we sat in the theater parking lot and waited until the movie started. There was a baseball game right behind the theater and I guess they won because they set off fireworks. The alarms of the cars to to the left and right of mine started going off. If that didn't make us look guilty...
Anyway, the movie. I really think I would've been more scared if everybody in the theater wasn't talking the whole time. Granted, some of their comments WERE funny, but still ["What's with all them bones down there? It's like they got KFC or something! lol]
How I felt about the movie was about how I felt about Signs. The anticipation of seeing the creature was prolly the worst thing. The good thing is, the movies only cost us $5. Well, I'm off to check on my laundry.

11:22 pm - I FORGOT THE BEST PART
|
|
Oh! And I found $30 today! Coming down "The Hill". Maybe it was my reward. I felt accomplished and like I didn't waste my ENTIRE time. Normally I'd turn in that kind of cash, but there was no wallet and I found it in the grass on the side of the road. Yeah...

11:01 pm - 40 minutes late
|
So today was pretty long. It started out by me waiting for the buses to take me to the NASA Space & Rocket Center. I prolly spent more time waiting/riding the bus than actually at the center. They gave us one hour. I mean, I don't know how much more stuff I coulda seen though. I got Dennis some dog tags from there, cuz I knew that he would love being there. I got them with his name on em and everythig.
I was definitely 40 minutes late to class...but it's okay cuz it's college! I took an hour long nap and it was amazing.
So I get back and I go to class and we do the "Getting to know you" kinda deal. Then, the professor assigns ANOTHER assignment [The night before I was supposed to read the first three chapters of this textbook and write a response to an essay question that was distributed.]. You know what's stupid? I'm already behind because they sold out of the books at the store. You'd think that if the book was required, they would just put it into the cost of the orientation and give it to you, but no. And out of the 50 people in my group, only 4 people had the book. So, I'm down here for 4 days and they're already forcing me to procrastinate.
After that, we all got our schedules and I realized that I'm not taking the mandatory orientation class. Basically, if I don't take that class, there's no point in going to the university. And I it said I was taking classes that I already took in high school for college credit.
So I asked where I could go to clear things up, and they said to Buchanan Hall up the Hill. This "Hill" was no joke. I swear it seemed like I was climbing Everest for a second. It didn't help that It was like 95 here today. Then, I get there and they tell me that they're not seeing anymore students today. I'm like, "I just came from East Jesus and you not even open." So I gotta go back tommorow and I hope they can fix all this crap. That's all for now.

1:03 pm - Not quite Hollywood, but close
|
So, I was at the drive-thru at Red Burrito aka Carl's Jr. aka Hardee's getting a taco salad when the woman looked at me funny. I reached for my money and gave it to her and she looked at me and said, "You were in that play Grease, weren't you?"
"Yes", I replied.
Upon my affirmation, the woman smiled and said, "You did a really good job. It was an excellent musical."
I then proceeded to thank her for the praise. No point to this post. It just made me feel good.

7:15 pm - TV!
|
Well, today didn't exactly go as planned. I didn't do anything. I was supposed to get some packing out of the way and complete these two 80 question online tests...but I didn't. Instead, I've been watching tv. I knew that this DVR would spoil me. I mean, it's LIVE TV PEOPLE! And you can pause it! Normally television isn't this amazing to me, but I gots to make the most of it. I can't believe my parents waited until I had ONE WEEK for them to get DishNetwork. Argh.
I need to ask my parents about Wednesday, but I can never seem to get my dad to listen. He's pretty busy. I know he'll understand more than my mom that this Wednesday is important to me. By the way, if you're reading this, feel free to go to Red Robin on Wednesday around 8:30, you don't have to, but it's sort of my going away deal. Me and some friends from church are going there and it's probably the last time I'll see you guys until my fall break [Mid-October] because I don't think I'm coming home for Labor Day. Flying isn't cheap. Anyways, I hope my mom says yes, but if not, I'll have to argue my way, cuz I can't miss this.
Welp, off to [attempt to] pack.
